A backstage date with Kate

When you think of Kate Fearnley combined with Middlesbrough Fashion Week I bet you think it’s all glitz, glamour and Golden Margaritas but not for this hard-working fashion blogger – I got right into the mix backstage at the VIP event ‘A Date with Kate.’

As soon as I stepped into MFW HQ on the morning I was put straight to the task of making up the goodie bags for the event later on that night which involved the very tricky task of ensuring the pink tissue paper was still sticking out of the top while making sure the samples, magazines etc were placed in the bag perfectly too – don’t laugh, it was a hard job! MIDDLESBROUGH’S hottest couture commodity Kate Fearnley is one of the nu-breed fashion designers.

Hailing from the picturesque town of Saltburn-on-sea, the dynamic designer first started her own design and manufacturing business in 2002 after receiving a grant from The Princes Trust.

Now almost ten years later she is every fashionistas fantasy wardrobe must-have.

Her boutique situated on Linthorpe road in Middlesbrough town centre offers its customer’s individuality with a figure hugging feminine flair.

The handmade designs are created on the premises from prom dresses that wouldn’t look out of place on the red carpet to hand embroidered bags to unique exclusively designed ‘one off’ items. Continue reading
